PROJECTS
Here you find all the main musical projects I am mainly involved:
Ottone Pesante / Zobibor / Apnø / Ecatorf trio / Hibaku Jumoku
OTTONE PESANTE
Ottone Pesante is an instrumental, experimental trio. From their early works, they produced an inimitable and highly original sound characterized by the extensive and increasing use of electronics.
ZOBIBOR
“ZOBIBOR” is the debut album from tubist and trombonist Francesco Bucci, (Ottone Pesante), born to experiment new languages and sounds with his two instruments: tuba and trombone. The music is a sum of the percussion sounds of pistons and coulisse, the sound of brass and his voice; everything played in real time. The result is a mix of different genres, difficult to label.
This kind of experimentation is not only about composition and arranging, but it’s also about a different, deep and complex relationship between human body and tuba / trombone. This absolutely unique solo is led by higher instrumental technique and very intense and poignant sound.
“ZOBIBOR” is the result of a profound, visceral musical research and testifies the incredible, impressive power of music without words, admirable virtuosity, original artistic vision and deep personal emotions.
ECATORF TRIO
The Ecatorf Trio is therefore a combo that not only moves into the lower reaches of the acoustic spectrum, but also extends more than an octave into the darkest, most abysmal region of sound. The exploration of timbre and spectra, emphasized by multi-instrumentation, brings the music back to its ancestral matrix: sound and silence.

APNØ
Imagine diving into the icy depths of the sea, in the dark, without air, losing all sense of time and space. This is the inspiration behind the new project featuring Francesco Bucci (Ottone Pesante, Zobibor) and Caterina Palazzi (Sudoku Killer, Zaleska). Their music ranges from free improvisations to more structured moments, with painful, suffocating, obstinate passages and others that allow a glimmer of light and a shred of hope. The timbre of both their instruments, low and dark, creates ancestral and profound atmospheres inspired by the world of the sea depths.

HIBAKU JUMOKU
A recently formed instrumental band, making their debut with this hypnotic, experimental, danceable project. The three offer a crossover approach that begins with raspy, dirty, and obstinate grooves, giving way to melody and electronics. An instrumental experience with a psycho-jazz hue, inspired by contemporary London sounds, with roots firmly planted in Africa and punk.
Francesco Bucci: tuba
Paolo Inserra: drums
Antonio Gallucci: tenor sax
